internal medicine posting

hello everyone!

my first posting is internal medicine and we are allocated to wad perubatan 4A, 4D and 7D sungai buloh. and yeah clinical year is totally different with pre-clinical year! both are tiring but they are tiresome in different way. pre clinical year- you are just sick of reading thick books with million words but in clinical year, you are just in a step closer to become a doctor. you meet patients everyday, talk and listen to them, and the difference between you and a real doctor is just, we are students and our seriousness is still not far from just sympathize the patients because we are not the one who is treating them now.

our batch are divided into 4 postings, besides internal med, there are surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, and pediatrics postings.

i'm just wondering why Taylors didnt send us to different hospitals since most of universities send their med students at least to 2 different hospitals. At first i dont know what is the rational of studying in different hospitals and now, i realize that every places have their own pattern of major diseases.

we need to clerk or in a long words " taking history with physical examination" to the patients and lately we rarely get more than 1 patient. because Taylors is not alone in here. Uitm, Mahsa, Msu are also here and every morning we have to fight (not exactly) to catch a patient. If you cant get a patient and that day is your turn to present the case, you are a dead meat! usually patient will cooperate only on the 1st session of clerking and they will refuse for the 2nd and 3rd session because they're patients anyway. i mean, they are sick! thats why they're here...

ok, what a long story today.
